8/5/2023 0 Comments Kontakt saleFor orchestral stuff it's pretty essential at this point. Powered by the free Kontakt 6 player (also compatible with the latest version of Kontakt 5), it features 15GB of multi-sample content, with over 20,000 unique samples of saxophones. Fortunately, there's enough to get started now, if one is willing to go the Wine route. Audio Plugin Deals has launched a two-week sale on Broadway Lites for Kontakt Player, offering a 76 discount on the virtual instrument library by Fable Sounds. As time goes on I think there will be more quality libraries for Linux. Oh, and I also have VPO as well (Virtual Playing Orchestra). I have looked at VSCO2 (sounds like a rather sinister chemical formula), and plan to get that also. Since all I currently have for RFL (Reaper For Linux) is GPO and Cinematic Strings, I need to gather in everything I can. All I'm hoping is that the sounds are at least as good as Garritan Personal Orchestra, and hopefully at least some of them better. That said, I also think the OP is better going for something like VSCO2 samples that can run in Kontakt Player and sound far more impressive to my ears. And that's before we get to the samplerate and bit depth (which I assume is still 16-bit). For a start, the number of instruments is vastly reduced, they only include samples for every whole step, the articulations are few and far between compared to even the basic packages available for purchase. Just to be clear that the samples included with Kontakt are not the full VSL by any stretch of the imagination. Here's the list I snagged from a terminal window. I think it was worth it just for the strings, brass, and woodwinds, but there are also a lot of other very useful sounds in the "Factory Library". As it turned out, I was able to crossgrade on a Black Friday sale and get a similar price. I had previously bought "Kontakt Elements" which was a very stripped down version of Kontakt that had only a couple instruments from that library. I bought Kontak 5 specifically to get the full VSL samples. I see they have a symphonic percussion library so that looks covered. So, does anyone know what kind of orchestral instruments you get with full kontakt? I mean woodwinds and brass primarily. East West uses iLok, Vienna uses eLicenser. I haven't even tried getting my Vienna libraries going. My attempts to get East West libraries working on Linux have not been successful (close bit no cigar). I have the Kontakt PLayer working on Reaper For Linux, and use it with Garritan Personal Orchestra and Cinematic Strings. Wav files are included for use with other software.I see that the full version of Kontakt 6 is half-price at 200.00. The Kontakt instruments require the full version of Kontakt 5.8.1 or later. Regularly 59 EUR, Maleventum is on sale for only 24 EUR until October 10th, 2022. Cinematic Low End Boost function instantly invigorates the bass frequency register of the samples with just one click, to make you braams really roar.Global Tuning function to tune ALL the samples to the same root key with just one knob, which turns very useful for more minimalist and aggressive compositions such as trailer music.Intuitive GUI allows you to individually manipulate each sample, combine multiple sounds and obtain your own bombastic war horn stabs and viking braams.Kontakt sampler of 260+ one-shots sounds (.WAV 96 kHz 24 bit) based on epic cinematic horns, tuned braams, war horns, viking horn calls, nordic hunt horns, dissonant trumpets, creature-reminiscent eerie horn tones, loud aggressive stabs, brass staccatos, long evocative tones, battle horn calls.Playable, MPE compatible Kontakt instrument with over 100 snapshots and 58 MPE Multis, that combines up to 4 layers of horns, flutes and rare bagpipe sounds and textures.VST Buzz has launched a limited time sale on Silence+Other Sounds’ Kontakt instrument library Maleventum, a cinematic sound library inspired by medieval and Viking horns.Įach sound and instrument contained in Maleventum instantly evokes scenes of forgotten dark ages, Viking armies and warriors, epic ancient battles, vast frozen landscapes, mystical pagan cults and supernatural presences hovering in the wind of the nordic woods.
